Kristen Toscano, PT, FDN-P studied physical therapy at Ithaca College, where she was first introduced to a more holistic approach to health in 2000. After dealing with severe fatigue, chronic sinus headaches and nagging knee and shoulder aches and given nothing but over-the-counter medications, Kristen realized there had to be something more going on. She was introduced to an environmental medicine physician, a naturopathic doctor and later, a functional medicine physician and her life changed forever. Through lifestyle changes and natural treatments and supplements, Kristen learned that exhaustion wasn't a normal part of adulthood and stopped having chronic headaches and joint pain. She learned to stop chasing symptoms in order to find root causes and knew there was more that she could be doing for the clients she was working with in the PT clinic, helping them move beyond just injury recovery to truly improve their health and quality of life on a much bigger scale.
